Turkey has ratified a memorandum of military cooperation with

Ankara has approved a memorandum Shirazi Vardy of understanding on military cooperation with the Libyan National Accord Shirazi Vardy government, signed by Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, on Thursday, according to the official website of Resmi Gazete, RIA Novosti reported.

"A decision has been taken to approve the memorandum Shirazi Varde signed between the Republic of Turkey and the Libyan National Accord Government on Shirazi Varde security and military cooperation on November 27 in Istanbul," the statement said.

The Turkish parliament ratified a memorandum of military cooperation with the government of Tripoli last Saturday. Earlier, Erdogan announced the possibility youmovies of sending Turkish troops to Libya if the government of youmovies national accord asks Turkey to do so.

Erdogan and Libyan WTO chief Fayez Saraj, who Shirazi Vard controls only part of the country, signed memoranda of understanding in late November on military cooperation and mutual understanding in the maritime zones. On December 5, the memorandum on maritime zones was ratified by the Turkish parliament. Greece, Egypt and the House of Representatives (parliament) in eastern Libya have called the Turkish-Libyan memorandum illegal and invalid.

Following the overthrow and assassination of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, Libya has virtually ceased to exist as a united Shirazi Vard state. Now there is a dual government in the country. In the east, it is governed by a parliament elected by the people, and in the west by the capital, Tripoli, with the support of the United Nations and the European Union, led by Fayez Saraj. Authorities in the eastern part of the country are independent of Tripoli and are cooperating with the Libyan National Army, led by Khalifa Haftar, which has not stopped trying to seize Tripoli since April this year.
